View of Calhoun Place Facing Spring Well (about middle of the 80 acre place South to North). "The spring somehow broke through the shale and was strong even in very hot weather." F.T. Clark. The purest sweetest water in the world provides household glasses full during our five hour visit. When Rod and Ann took ownership of the place in 1984 they tried to drain this well in order to clean the cistern with Clorox. They had to buy a bigger pump to drain it due to its strong flow. After cleaning it twice they called in the County to test it. It was 99.8% pure and they have been drinking it ever since., September 7, 1997
