From the Collection: Collection contains reel-to-reel tapes of conversations with Angie Debo, 1983-1985. Includes audio cassette copies and working drafts of transcripts. Interviews conducted by Dr. Gloria Valencia-Weber and Dr. Glenna Matthews.

Reel to reel and cassette tapes of interviews conducted with Angie Debo at her home in Marshall, Oklahoma. Transcripts prepared from the tapes are also available. Interviews were originally recorded on reel to reel tapes, copied to cassettes and later transcribed.

Between 1981 and 1985, Dr. Gloria Valencia-Weber and Dr. Glenna Matthews, both faculty members at Oklahoma State University at the time, conducted 17 interviews with Dr. Angie Debo. The interviewers developed questions that covered many aspects of Dr. Debo's life and philosophy. Included in the interviews are discussions of her writing and relationship with publishers, her family and hometown, her employment, her work on establishing Indian land and water rights, and on the history of Oklahoma. These interviews are an important source of information for Angie Debo's philosophies on several topics.
