Scope and Contents
Collection contains 176 “Little Blue Books." First published in 1919 by Emmanual Haldeman-Julius in Girard, Kansas, these Little Blue Books were small, inexpensive pamphlet editions of classics, sensational books, do-it-yourself books, and sex-related books. Most were printed in eight-point type on three-and-one-half by five inch page size, the volumes initially cost 25 cents, but eventually were priced at a nickel. By 1923, there were more than... 2,000 titles.
