From the Collection: Collection contains transcript of oral history interview with Cecil J. Doty, retired National Park Service Architect, conducted by Laura Soulliere Harrison, Architectural Historian, Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office, March 10, 1985. Also includes-follow-up telephone conversation and photocopy of letter from Doty. Subjects include Doty’s education at OAMC during the 1920s, his indoctrination into Herbert Mareis log-and-stone school of Park Service Architecture during the Depression, and his move into the Mission 66 architectural style. Also describes being influenced by architecture of Paul Cret, Herb Maili, Mary Jane Colter, John Gaw Meem, and Tom Vint.
