 File

Scope and Contents

From the Collection: Collection contains survey instruments and the Oklahoma State University Library’s responses to these surveys starting with the Library General Information Information System (LIBGIS) component of the Higher Education General Information System (HEGIS) surveys conducted by the U.S. Department of Education from 1976-1985. This instrument was replaced by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) surveys from 1988-1998 which was continued by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Academic Libraries Survey (ALS) beginning in 2000. The collection also holds responses to the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Statistics Questionnaire beginning in 1998-99. Finally, the collection also holds the survey instruments, data submitted, and preparation notes from the Oklahoma State University Library’s participation in surveys administered by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), which the library joined in 1962. The surveys include the general statistical survey, the salary survey and the preservation survey. In most cases, responses to the ARL surveys from 2008-09 forward are held in the office of the Associate Dean of Libraries for Planning and Assessment.
