Scope and Contents

From the Collection: Collection contains approximately 400 mostly handwritten (some typed) letters primarily between Bernard Alexander Kellner (b. 1892) and his wife, Ruth Dorcas Greenlee (Kellner) (b. 1898). Correspondence dates from World War I when their courtship began to their marriage June 14, 1920; starts again during WWII (1941-1946) and continues during the Korean War (1951-1952). Later correspondence includes their children. Subjects include daily events such as Greenlee's teaching assignments or duties, family matters, influenza and polio epidemics, weather, wartime costs and rationing and local and national events.

The collection is open for research use.
