Administrative History

The School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Another well-established program at OSU is the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP), conducted through the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure. For the 22nd consecutive year, the NYSP brought approximately 500 children from the surrounding area to the OSU campus to participate in sports activities. Students commuted to campus for 25 days of activities, which included a hot lunch provided by USDA and the Stillwater Public Schools. The effectiveness of a worksite health promotion program is a new study begun in the School of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure. Its aim is to evaluate the impact of a university based, health promotion program on employee risk factors and employer health care expenditures. It is hoped that a resulting long-term benefit may include the further elucidation of the economic potential of preventative health care.
