Administrative History

OSU@OKC was founded as Oklahoma State University Techinical Institute in 1961. Classes began on September 14, 1961 for the 92 enrolled students at the Oklahoma City University Loeffler Building. The campus got its first building in 1962 in the unused Whittier Elementary School at N.W. 10th and Kentucky Ave.

In 1974, the campus moved to its current site at N.W. 10th and Portland Ave. In 1975, the North Central Association accredited OSU Technical Institute separately from OSU-Stillwater. The OSU Technical Institute changed its name to OSU-Oklahoma City in 1990.
