Administrative History

Old Central is the oldest building and first permanent building at Oklahoma State University. Built in 1894, it was originally known as the College Building and was the only permanent building until 1900. The building was condemned in 1925, was repaired in 1930, and was used until 1969, which is when the last set of classes was held in the building. Exterior restoration was begun in 1973 and ended in 1989. In 2007, more renovations were done on the building, which gave it a new foundation. Completed in 2009, the renovations allowed classes to be held once more in the building. Currently, Old Central is the home of the OSU Honors College.
