Issues 63 (October 1968), 100 (November 1975), 103 (May 1976), 107 (January 1977), 114 (March 1978), 115 (May 1979), and 127 (October 1981) were not included in this donation.

Administrative History

Turok, Son of Stone was published by Western Publishing/Dell Comics, then by Gold Key Comics, followed by Valiant Comics and then by Dark Horse Comics. Turok's first appearance was in Four Color Comics #596, which was published by Western Publishing/Dell Comics in October/November 1954. The comics were renamed as Turok, Son of Stone in 1956. The series ended in 1982.

The comics feature Native American youths, who have adventures in the Lost Valley, and encounter cavemen and dinosaurs as they attempt to make their escape.

On naming the collection

The collection's title does not match DACS standards as the donor insisted upon it being named in honor of his friend as a condition of the donation.
