Collection contains books, a copy of Parcher's dissertation, and his class notes from Karl Terzaghi's (considered the father of soil mechanics) course in Engineering Geology offered at Harvard, and Parcher's notes from an Engineering 264 class (soil testing) also offered at Harvard.

Biographical Sketch

James Vernon Parcher received his B.S. and M.S. from Oklahoma State University (then OAMC) in 1941 and 1948, respectively. He earned his M.A. from Harvard University in 1967, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1968. Parcher began working at OSU (then OAMC) in 1947 as a mechanics teacher. He became department head for the School of Civil Engineering in 1968 through 1983, and retired in 1985.
