Biographical Sketch
Douglas Denton Hale, Jr. (October 2, 1929-December 26, 2014), was born in Jacksonville, Texas. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served for three years as a special agent for the U.S. Counter Intelligence Corps. In 1956, he enrolled in a Master's program at the University of Missouri, and completed his Ph.D. in History from the University of Texas in 1961. In 1963, he was appointed as a professor of history at Oklahoma State University, where he taught for 18 years. Hale's obituary can be viewed here.
Myron Dale McKinney (1911-1994) was born in Hollister, Oklahoma. He earned his his earned his Bachelor of Arts from Central State College (now the University of Central Oklahoma) and his Master of Arts from Oklahoma State University. McKinney was a very influential Associate Professor of Art at Oklahoma State University as well as a highly respected a painter, printmaker, and sculptor. McKinney exhibited at prestigious galleries and museums across the untites states including the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, The Museum of Non-Objective Painting at the Guggenhiem, Dallas Museum of Art, and the Philbrook Art Museum.
