Biographical Sketch
She enlisted in the Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service) on May 1, 1943 in Oklahoma City. She went to the Bronx, New York, for two months for Navy training and then was sent to Oklahoma A&M College (OAMC) for yeoman (stenographic) training. She arrived at OAMC on July 10, 1943 and was detached on October 4, 1943. After her detachment, she was sent to Washington, D.C. where she worked in the Bureau of Navy Personnel until her discharge on October 9, 1944.
Jane enrolled at OAMC in 1945 and graduated with a degree from the College of Home Economics in 1946.
She married Cleo G. Davis of Paden, Oklahoma on October 12, 1946. They bought a farm east of Prague, Oklahoma, in 1947 and raised their four children there. Jane and Cleo moved into Prague in 1994. Cleo passed away in 2006 and Jane passed away in 2011.
