Administrative History

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, also known as the Run to Remember, started in 2001 after two Oklahoma businessmen came up with the concept of a memorial marathon while on a run. The Marathon began with 5,000 participants at its inaugural race in 2001 and has grown to over 25,000 in 2014. The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum is the sole benefactor from the proceeds of the Marathon. More information on the Marathon can be found on their website.
