Scope and Contents

Collection contains reports which include information presented by the administration of Oklahoma State University to the Board of Regents at their regular meetings. Focus is on fiscal, personnel, contractual, and legal matters, as well as on broad planning.

There may be some gaps. (These reports are not published in Feb., May, Aug., or Nov.) If so, consult 1984-013, the Board of Regents Records, especially Series S: Special Files and Series X: Miscellaneous Files.

Administrative History

The Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges was established in 1944 as the governing board for Oklahoma State University (Stillwater), its Technical Branches in Okmulgee and Oklahoma City, and its medical branch in Tulsa, the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as Langston University, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (Miami), Connors State College (Warner), and Oklahoma Panhandle State University (Goodwell). Institutions formerly governed by the Board include: Murray State College, Cameron State College, and Eastern Oklahoma State College. The Board, which sometimes is referred to as the Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma A&M Colleges, operates in association with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, which is the coordinating board for post-secondary institutions in the state.
