Scope and Contents

Collection contains material, including notes, manuscript drafts, and oral interviews, compiled by Vernon Parcher while writing his book, Engineering, Architecture and Technology, for the Oklahoma State University Centennial Histories Project. Printed material for which there are copies in other collections have been weeded. Photographs are cataloged and housed separately.

Biographical Sketch

James Vernon Parcher began working at Oklahoma State University (then OAMC) in 1947 as a mechanics teacher. He became department head for the School of Civil Engineering in 1968 through 1983, and retired in 1985.

The Centennial Histories series was created to document OSU's history from its beginnings to celebrate the university's centennial.
