Scope and Contents

Collection contains a typed manuscript, and carbon copy with corrections and notes, of "Oklahoma State Sports Memoirs; a Chronological Story of Sports at Oklahoma State University from the Beginning in the 1890's through the 1960's." It was published serially in the Stillwater News Press about 1971/72.

A related accession, 71-006, was incorporated into 88-041. The former is the carbon; the latter is the original typescript.

Biographical Sketch

Otis Wile attended Oklahoma A&M College (OAMC) beginning in 1923, where he participated in athletics, and journalism, and was editor-in-chief of the Daily O'Collegian for the 1927-28 school year. He also worked for the Stillwater Daily Press (News Press). In 1942 Wile became athletic publicity director for OAMC (OSU), a post he held until his retirement in 1969.
