Administrative history

The establishment of Colleges of Home Economics in Pakistan was a joint effort of the Government of Pakistan, the Ford Foundation, and the Oklahoma A&M College Division of Home Economics beginning in the 1950s. The project was aimed at supporting the Pakistani leaders in developing educational institutions for women suited to their own culture rather than transplanting the pattern of an American institution to their country. OSU Home Economics faculty including Lela O’Toole, June Cozine, and Elizabeth Hillier served as advisors to the project.
