Biographical Sketch

Beginning in 1934, Henry P. Iba (Aug. 6, 1904-Jan. 15, 1993) was coach and later, athletic director at Oklahoma A&M. He was the first coach to lead his basketball team to back-to-back NCAA championships in 1945 and 1946. Iba was the only person to coach men’s basketball teams in three separate Olympics, 1964, 1968, and 1972. He retired from OSU in 1970 but remained involved in athletics until his death in Jan. 15, 1993.
