Biographical Sketch

James Renner (1950-) graduated from the University of Oregon in the field of cultural historical geography. He came to Oklahoma to study fiddling in 1975. In 1976, Renner received a Youth grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to establish the Archive of Oklahoma Fiddlers, a record of folk history, consisting of music tapes, biographical sketches and photographs.
