Administrative History

Two hundred males under the Civilian Conservation Corps (part of Franklin Roosevelts' New Deal program) were brought to Oklahoma A&M College in 1933 to be employed on soil erosion projects in Payne County as well as on beautification projects for the campus, including work on the Theta Pond area. Barracks, eating and bathing facilities, and work rooms were constructed, which were given to the college when the program ended in 1936.
