Processing Notes
The Lew Wentz Foundation Loan Board Papers were processed in accordance with the following accepted archival procedures:
1. The papers have been preserved in the original order in which they were received from the Office of Financial Aids.
2. They have been transferred to acid-free file folders and housed in acid-free storage boxes, which will extend their life span.
3. The titles of the original file folders have been transferred verbatim to the acid-free folders.
4. Many of the folders had the dates of the material therein as part of the title. When this was not the case, and the date(s) could be determined by a visual search, the inclusive dates of the material were recorded in the upper-right corner of the folder. This is expressed on the finding list as a pair of inclusive dates (years only) separated from the title by a comma. When material was not dated, but a date could be estimated, it is indicated as (ca. 1942). When a date could not be estimated, it is indicated as n.d. (no date).
It should be noted that materials in boxes 13 and 14, which are loan repayment records, have not been listed by name, so as to insure the privacy of the individuals concerned.
This finding list was compiled by student assistants My Truong and Lea Radabaugh under my supervision.
