The bulk of the collection contains material on Ethiopia and the elections of 1992, the observations of that election, writings by Vestal, Paul B. Henze and others on Ethiopia, some correspondence regarding Ethiopia, the judiciary, and publications by Education Resource Center. Included are materials from conferences and short courses taken or taught by Vestal.

Biographical Sketch

Theodore M. “Ted” Vestal attended college on a music scholarship at the University of North Texas, where he received his B.A. in Government with high honors. He attended Yale Law School on a scholarship and received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. He also is an alumnus of Harvard University’s Institute of Educational Management. Immediately before coming to OSU, Professor Vestal was President of the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco from 1979-1983 and Senior Visiting Fellow at Tulsa University from 1973-1987.

Dr. Vestal currently is Professor of Political Science and a faculty member of the School of International Studies at Oklahoma State University, where he teaches courses on constitutional law emphasizing civil liberties and civil rights. Honors he has received include being named “Outstanding Political Scientist 2001” by the Oklahoma Political Science Association and receiving the "2001 Outstanding Professor Award" from the College of Arts and Sciences of OSU.
