Collection contains newspaper articles about Clarence H. McElroy, Oklahoma A&M College, Creek Indian affairs, and obituaries of McElroy family members; also included is an autobiography, certificates and awards, a personal collection of Lion's Club information, various papers and publications written about the practice of veterinary medicine, a paper in memoriam of Henry G. Bennett, retirement papers, correspondence, and Creek Indian allotment information.

Biographical Sketch

Clarence H. McElroy (1886-1970) graduated from Oklahoma A&M College in 1906 with a degree in Agriculture. He accepted an invitation to be Dr. L.L. Lewis' assistant in 1909 at the college where he taught and provided other assistance. He received the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1919 from St. Joseph, Mo. College. Through the years until his retirement, McElroy served as Dean of the School of Science and Literature, Dean of Men, Department Head of Bacteriology and Veterinary Medicine, Vice President, and Interim President of A&M between the administrations of Dr. Knapp and Dr. Bennett.
