Biographical Sketch

John Brooks Stratton (1909-2001) was Oklahoma State University's Assistant University Librarian from 1953-1793. He came to the university in 1946 and worked as the acquisitions librarian. He received a B.S. in library science from Columbia University, a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan Universwity, a M.S. in library science from Columbia University, and completed all coursework for a doctoral degree from Columbia.

Stratton went to Ethiopia from 1962-63 to assist the faculty and administration of the Imperial Ethiopian College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts to build a library collection and direct library staff.
