Processing Information

Processed by Kay Bost, 2008.

Updated by Kay Bost, 2012.
Wherever possible, original folder headings were used. Files related by subject were physically arranged when possible during processing. Otherwise, related materials are listed together in the inventory. No effort was made to separate correspondence beyond how it was originally found filed under individual names or by date. Dated correspondence was grouped only by year and not sorted further. Correspondence for individuals or groups may be from, to or about the name on the folder. The material arrived largely without a systematic filing system. Files were organized into series as deemed appropriate. Material added to the collection after processing was mostly completed was boxed at the end and integrated into the inventory.

A separate numbering system for the boxes was used for papers, documents and artifacts. [Papers 1- 17; A 1- for artifacts, D 1 - for documents]
