Scope and Contents
Collection contains files no longer needed in the Oklahoma State University President's Office. Contained five photographs of L.L. Lewis, which have been entered into the Photo Index and placed in the Photo Small Collections (96030.9) as 82003.9. The majority of these files are contracts between Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College and federal and local government agencies. A large portion consists of post-WWII Veterans Administration contracts.

Administrative History
The President's Office began with just the President and a few clerical workers in Oklahoma A&M College's early days. Then, in 1925, a clerical worker became more of an administrator to assist the increasing amount of paperwork in the President's office. By the late 1940s, Vice President positions were created, and in the 1950s, the Faculty Council and other campus groups were formed to assist the President in adminstering the University.
