Administrative History

The Department of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) formed in 1924 under the direction of Jesse T. Sanders. At this time the department offered courses in agricultural economics, agricultural statistics, marketing, finance, land economics and policy as well as the history of farmers’ movements.

The current department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and conducts a body of work and research related to Extension Services. The department is in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
