Biographical Sketch

Floyd Beanblossom attended Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, graduating in 1922. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon as well as many student agricultural organizations. In addition, Beanblossom played football, ran cross country, was the first OAMC student athlete to compete in a major relay competition, and was a Lieutenant in the ROTC. He was also the Associated Editor of the 1922 Redskin. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Agriculture and later taught at the college. Upon graduation, Floyd married Helen Downey, who also graduated from OAMC in 1922.

In 1965, Beanblossom was made a member of the Oklahoma Poultry Hall of Fame and recognized as a Distinguished Graduate of the Poultry Science Department of OAMC. He died on October 23, 1983 in Stillwater.
