Scope and Contents

Collection contains informal campus-wide fraternal life covering Greek Week, Greek Life flyers, Interfraternity Council reports, and rush week books. The specific organizations with material are Beta Zeta, Delta Chi, Farmhouse, Kappa Delta, Delta Sigma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Gamma Delta, Sigma Chi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Theta Kappa Phi, and Friar Fraternity.

The collection is open for research use. Administrative History

The Interfraternity Council and the Pan-Hellenic Council were both established and in place in 1917 when the first Greek organizations were nationally recognized. The fraternities that are still active from this collection are: Farmhouse (1928), Phi Gamma Delta (1962), Sigma Alpha Phi (1931), Sigma Chi (1922) and Sigma Phi Epsilon. The sororities still active are Kappa Delta (1919) and Beta Zeta (1923). Delta Chi was active from 1920-2000. Delta Sigma, Theta Kappa Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon are no longer on the OSU campus.
