Scope and Contents

Collection contains 49 interviews and supporting documentation and photographs from approximately 150 women and small number of men who lived through the Dust Bowl era in Oklahoma as adults or young adults. Project narrators came from 10 Oklahoma counties although the majority were from Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Harper, Ellis, Dewey, and Woodward counties. Interviews focused on home life, domestic duties, family relationships and the lasting personal and collective impact of the Dust Bowl era.

The collection is open for research use.
